Memorial plaque to Frederick Mullins of Burnham, died 22nd of October,1695, aged 31. Tapering slab, set in an upright position into the east side of the Ventry family mausoleum on the south side of St. James’s Church in the graveyard at Dingle Co. Kerry. Frederick Mullins was the son & heir of Colonel Frederick Mullins of Burnham House, located 2.5km to the south-west of Dingle town on the western shoreline of Dingle Harbour.
Colonel Mullins, was born at Burnham, Norfolk, England. He was the son of William Mullins/Molyns of Burnham, who was married to Jane Ludlow. Frederick purchased lands in Co. Kerry around 1666 at Ballingolin which was then renamed Burnham. Col. Mullins married Jane Eveleigh of Oxford & was MP for Dingle between 1692-5 & MP for Tralee between 1695-6. He died 3rd of November 1712.
His son Frederick, married Martha, eldest daughter of Thomas Blennerhassett of Letter House in 1683 & they had a son William Mullins who was born 1691. In 1800 his grandson Thomas was created Baron Ventry.
